A 1920's Era Mansion Restored To Its Former Glory!

The Gaines Estate property in Fayetteville, WV was originally purchased shortly after the Civil War. The neo-colonial style structure that stands today was built in 1920. In 2008, a fire nearly destroyed the mansion. However, in 2012 the mansion was restored as close as possible to its original design and condition. The Gaines Estate opened for business in 2020, and has been used as a meeting, event, and wedding venue. In 2024, a fine dining restaurant will be added to the services offered by The Gaines Estate.

The Gaines Estate & Reception Hall

The historic Gaines mansion was constructed as a 1920s era home. The mansion has been fully restored to be used as an event venue and is designed to accommodate several types of events including weddings, showers, corporate events, and private dinners. The mansion offers an open floor plan, commercial kitchen, fully stocked cocktail lounge, grand dining room, and 3 outdoor patios.

The reception hall is the newest addition to The Gaines Estate property. The reception hall is located directly behind the mansion. The structure is 4000 sq. ft. and can accommodate events with up to 200 guests. This additional venue is the perfect location for large conferences, wedding receptions, and company dinners. The reception hall offers a prep kitchen, fully stocked bar, center stage, tables and chairs, projector, 2 bathrooms, and is handicap accessible.

The Gaines Estate Restaurant

Now OPEN!

The historic elegance of The Gaines Estate and the al fresco dining opportunities of the mansion’s two decks and covered porch with views of the landscaped grounds surrounding the estate will offer a unique and memorable dining experience in southern West Virginia. The Gaines Estate restoration included a beautifully designed lounge reminiscent of the prohibition era and a southern style patio where patrons are encouraged to relax prior to dinner or after work with a hand-crafted cocktail and appetizers. The Gaines Estate will continue to function as a meeting, event, and wedding venue. The restaurant will close on days when large weddings and other events are scheduled. Reservations are recommended to ensure that diners will be seated at a table when desired.

Cascade Properties LLC has hired Chef Shane Blankenship and Sous-Chef Greg Lilly to create classic American cuisine for elevated dining. The chefs have designed a simple classic affordable menu with favorites such as a signature burger, filet au poivre, as well as a Chef’s featured pasta. The restaurant will be open Sundays for brunch from 10:30am to 1:30pm. Wednesday through Saturday, 5pm to 9pm
