About The Gaines Estate

The Historic Gaines Estate house is a 1920’s era mansion that has been fully-restored as a wedding and event venue. The house was designed to accommodate different types of events including weddings, showers, corporate meetings, private dinners and more! The house offers old-world elegance and charm with it’s exquisite interior design, open floor plan and adjacent outdoor patios.

Reception Hall

The reception hall is the newest addition to The Gaines Estate property. Located directly behind The Gaines Estate house, the 4,000 sq. ft. building can accommodate events up to 200 guests. The reception hall is the perfect location for large conferences, wedding receptions, company dinners and more.

The Gaines Estate sits on 192 acres in downtown Fayetteville, WV. The property offers your event complete privacy while conveniently being steps away from town. There are multiple outdoor event spaces for you to choose from offering the perfect setting for wedding ceremonies, team meetings, bridal showers and more.

Food and Beverage Service


The Gaines Estate has hired Executive Chef Shane Blankenship and Sous Chef Greg Lilly to offer an all-inclusive catering service. The Gaines Estate offers several catering packages to choose from that will fit the need of your event. We offer custom buffet packages, appetizer display stations, and dessert service. Each catering package includes catering staff and dinnerware. The venue coordinator will work closely with you to help create the perfect menu for your event. 

We encourage you to use our in-house caterer, however, groups do have the option to bring in their own outside caterer. The house is equipped with a commercial kitchen that can serve up to 250 guests. Outside caterers are permitted to use the kitchen services for prep only.  Inquire for details.


The Gaines Estate provides a fully-stocked bar and bartender with every event. The estate house has a cocktail lounge with a full-service bar on the first floor and an additional mini bar on the second floor. The reception hall is equipped with a full-service bar. A portable bar is available for outdoor events. Both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverage services are provided through The Gaines Estate. Parties can choose from one of our bar packages to accommodate their event.
